My name is John Sims and I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. I treat diseases and disorders using Japanese style acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine and nutritional medicine. I concentrate on internal disorders including respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, skin disorders, allergies, chronic fatigue, low energy and poor immune system.

My specialties include the treatment of chronic and acute infections (including Hepatitis C), Leaky Gut Syndrome, and supportive medicine for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation therapy. I also practice pediatrics for common cold, respiratory tract infections, asthma, eczema, and food allergies. In the main, I do not practice orthopedics (the treatment of musculoskeletal complaints - lower back pain, joint pain, elbow and wrist injuries, etc.), although I do treat arthritis and acute trauma with herbal medicine.

We schedule the first visit for 60 minutes; for children under 5 years, we schedule 40 minutes. My practice combines traditional Chinese medicine, nutritional medicine, German electrodermal testing, and Japanese style acupuncture. In the first visit, we begin by interviewing you about your main complaint and your history. If your problem involves an internal imbalance, or is chronic and long term, we will do Chinese pulse and tongue diagnosis and electrodermal testing for the remainder of the visit, without acupuncture. We may also discuss the value or necessity of doing certain laboratory tests.
